I was on my way to work when JJ of Hitz.fm said Sir Bobby Charlton is in the studio. And I just screamed when I heard his voice. Luckily my window was up and (hopefully) no one heard me. I don’t know why I did that, it was a spontaneous reaction. Haven’t screamed for quite a while and it felt really good.
Sir Bobby, a director of Manchester United, is in town for some promotional stuff. He was at a Public Bank function yesterday when the bank launched its MU credit card. I was told he’ll be at a luncheon tomorrow (a by invitation only affair) hosted by Barclays, if I’m not mistaken.
He will be on air again tomorrow at 6pm, this time for The Beautiful Game on Red104.9 with Jeevan.
On another note, a former colleague met Sir Bobby at the PB event and actually wrote something for the sports pages! He’s a fellow United supporter now a business writer with a newswire. Imagine that. Sorry I can’t put a link to the article. You can read it in The Sun today.
