Of being brave

Cin and I met PK for iftar/dinner. She told Cin earlier that she had to go for a check up, and Cin thought that it had something to do with a minor operation PK had about a year ago. It turned out to be something else.

Over dinner, she told us that she will undergo a major surgery on Thursday and will be taking leave until the end of the year. She told us that she’s scared but the doctor, the second she had consulted with, said that surgery was inevitable.

I wouldn’t know what I’d do if I was in PK’s position. Maybe not go to the bookshop and spend two months’ worth of book allowance, but something along those lines I guess. Or have a panic attack. That’s possible.

It seems like age is really catching up. Not only I hear about older relatives or parents of people I know that are sick, even those in my circle of friends are having medical problems now. Scary. We really should take care of ourselves better.

Take care, PK. We’ll visit soon.
